Midecentury Teak Desk by Peter Løvig Nielsen for Hedensted Mobelfabrik

This free standing Midcentury Modern Danish writing desk was designed by Peter Løvig Nielsen, while being produced by Hedensted Møbelfabrik of Denmark in or about the late 70’s.

The table is made of teak wood and while the grant majority of this model features two sets of three drawers on each side, this was custom optioned with the rare and highly sought after file drawer on the right hand side. Perhaps one of the most beautiful details of this mesterværk (masterpiece) is the existence of a library shelf in the back of the desk, containing 2 storage compartments as well as a shelve on the table’s back side in the center. It shows some beautiful detailing, especially Peter Løvig Nielsen’s famous and notorious lip design and handles at the tabletop.

The table has keyholes on both sides for locking the contents within the top drawers, but unfortunately does not come with the matching key, though VNTG can source one if desired.

Condition is what we call “used for many decades and it shows”, but can be completely refinished erasing any signs of usual wear and tear for an additional cost by our master restorers. Overall appearance presents beautifully, and is a show stopper for anyone looking for a statement piece for their corporate or home office.
